Gamer vs Games

Like many of you, I have a huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge backlog of games. Playing was super easy when I was in school, but with work and real life taking more time, there's less chances to sit down and play 10 hours of games. And even when one can get a nice chunk of time off, it's often just easier to boot up something comfortable like League of Legends, Hearthstone, WoW, or any other timewaste of choice.

Add things like Steam Sales and Humble Bundles on top of this, and suddenly one is looking at well upwards of 80 games that have been paid for and have not been played, on top of other impulse buy games that I keep eyeing up. Gulp.

So I'm going to try to chew through them! There won't be any sort of schedule at the moment or possibly even at all - I still have a 9 to 5, I'm getting married later this year, and I'm also an avid Warhammer 40k player so doing that hobby takes up some time as well. But my mission now is to spend my gaming time on backlog games and new stuff, rather than just time killer games.

And this blog, then, is to keep me honest. I'll be writing about the games I play and my thoughts on them. While that's not entirely interesting, I'm sure, it's as much for me as it is for you. I really enjoy talking about games. I think they're the future of entertainment. I'm not talking just mind-numbing, sit down and shoot stuff games (though those are fun too), but things that challenge our ideas of what makes a game and how we view entertainment in the first place. And maybe I'll say things that you like. Hope you enjoy!
